JOY

Today’s post will be short and sweet.

A while ago I wrote about a sadness that folded around me like a blanket when I found out that a friend has cancer.

Today I am over-joyed! I just received the news that she is clean. No, not in remission, clean. The doctors can’t find a trace of the cancer in her. CLEAN!

They can’t explain it.

They only gave her 3 months.

The tests are clean this morning.

I can explain it!!!

Let me tell you about a woman who, when she found out that she had cancer did not think about herself for one second. All her concerns were for her husband and daughter.

All she cared about that was that they would be loved and supported. Her exact words were:

“I’m not worried about myself, God will provide for me.”

Not only did she put all of her trust and faith in God, she also refused to let the cancer take hold of her spirit.

I have never heard anyone so positive. Full of jokes and always comforting everyone else.

Today she received her miracle …

My cup is overflowing with joy …

An Afrikaans song comes to mind, by Jo Black. I’ll translate.

‘n Skip word in n hawe gebou.
A ship is built in a harbour
‘n Skip lyk in ‘n hawe baie mooi vir my en jou,
A ship looks beautiful in a harbour for me and you
But that’s not what a ship is made for
Die storms en die winde sal waai
The storms and the winds will blow
Hoist your sails high, because one day the tide will turn
Let your soul’s compass steer your heart again
Ready your masts, pull the anchor out
In die rigting van die suiderkruis.
In the direction of the Southern Cross
Ons is gemaak om uit te gaan
We were made to go out
Op die golwe van die diepste oseaan.
On the waves of the deepest ocean
We find our direction in the stars and the bright moon
Ons is gemaak in HOOP se naam.
We were made in the name of HOPE
Ons is gemaak om uit te gaan.
We were made to go out
Life will throw you and push you around
Soms voel dit of jy sink, maar jy moet net jou voete soos Petrus vind.
Though it feels like you’re sinking, you must just find your feet, like Peter did
En dalk net weer glo soos ‘n kind.
And maybe believe like a child again
Hou net koers, want soms kom die twyfel.
Just hold your course, sometimes doubt will come
But it is more about how you get up than how you fell down
Don’t be scared when the waters are rough
Tel jou skouers op.
Lift your head up
Voel jou hart weer klop.
Feel you heart beating again
Ons is gemaak om uit te gaan
We were made to go out
Op die golwe van die diepste oseaan.
On the waves of the deepest ocean
We find our direction in the stars and the bright moon
Ons is gemaak in HOOP se naam.
We were made in the name of HOPE
Ons is gemaak om uit te gaan.
We were made to go out
Stuur jou skip nou deur die poorte.
Steer your ship out of the harbour
Ons hoop is meer as net leë woorde.
Our HOPE is more than just empty words
Jy’s in beheer van jou bestemming.
You’re in control of your destiny
Hoe jy daar uitkom is jou eie besluit.
How you get there is up to you
Ons is gemaak om uit te gaan
We were made to go out
Op die golwe van die diepste oseaan.
On the waves of the deepest ocean
We find our direction in the stars and the bright moon
Ons is gemaak in HOOP se naam.
We were made in the name of HOPE
Ons is gemaak om uit te gaan.
We were made to go out
With JOY
Trudie
